This typographic project responded to the ISTD brief “Putting Things in Order,” which explored alternative systems of categorisation. I focused on my grandfather’s coin collection, using numismatics, particularly New Zealand currency, as a lens to examine how items are ordered by date, country, name, and mintage. The project revealed how systems of organisation reflect personal and cultural values, and was awarded silver at the New Zealand Best Awards.
